More than a Hundred IslandsBy Bryan B. Garcia
Despite its rustic façade, Alaminos is a city teeming with life and natural wonders. What began as a tiny village by the China Sea became the fourth city in the Province of Pangasinan. Alaminos is known to be the cradle of one of the greatest natural wonders in the Philippines, if not the world — Hundred Islands. Braganza Island (photo by RUDY LIWANAG)

In a time of short-lived consumption with almost only electronic productions, the recollection, preservation and care of the real roots of the popular music are very important, particularly for the young generation. Islandia Hotel-Alaminos City aims to be a platform to promote tourism and music in western Pangasinan.
BulSU Korean ESL educational tour (31 Jan 2010)
Islandia hosted 31 students and staff of Bulacan State University (BulSU) for a two-day educational tour of Alaminos City and the Hundred Islands National Park. These particular students are Korean participants of the university's English as a Second Language (ESL) Program. The tour was an external laboratory of the ESL program where the Korean student learn to use English to interact with local Filipinos in a wondrous natural setting, "The Hundred Islands." Many thanks to Mr. Rhino Lou L Rivera, BulSU Coordinator of External Affairs, and Engr. Emmanuel M. Manlapig, Chief Operations Officer of Citigate TravelPlus for coordinating the tour. The warm breeze slowly peels away the images of city life. From high-rise buildings to rice fields, taxicabs to cattle-drawn carts, the sight of rural life goes as you traverse the open roads of the Central Luzon flatlands. The transition is just a prelude to the Alaminos experience.
